Victron Orion-Tr 12/24-5 – DC-DC converter, isolated converts a 12 V DC system into an adjustable 24 V DC supply for compatible electrical equipment. The input and output are galvanically isolated.
Power supply – not a battery charger
This Orion-Tr is a converter without the multi-stage charging program of a battery charger. It should not be confused with the Orion-Tr Smart or Orion XS. If you need to charge a service battery from the alternator, you should choose a suitable DC-DC battery charger instead.
Suitable for this type of installation
- 24 V DC equipment that can operate within the selected output voltage.
- A 12 V supply within the converter's specified input range.
- A load within 5 A at nominal output voltage and 25 °C; temperature and mounting may require derating of the load.

The current limit in the table applies at nominal output voltage. At higher temperatures, the load must be derated according to the datasheet. If the output is set higher than the nominal voltage, the requirement for the necessary input voltage also increases.
Connection and items to be selected separately
Cables, fuses, cable lugs, and any BMS control must be selected according to the specific installation. They are not universally compatible add-ons based solely on the product name. Check the product variant, space requirements, and the manufacturer's installation instructions before ordering and installing.
Important limitations
This is a DC-DC converter for power supply, not a battery charger. Choose an actual battery charger if the task is to charge a service battery. The model has neither Bluetooth nor VE.Direct. Input, output, and load must be dimensioned for the installation.
